Terry Denton has dropped in some great illustrations, AND its safe to say, if you read it, you want to visit it (the treehouse.) The only thing is, there isn't much of a story. It would do better if Andy Griffiths had made one story, instead of a bunch of stories revolving around the same plot. MESSAGES: 2/10 ROLE MODELS: 1/10 EDUCATION: 1/10 (you gotta learn your 13 times tables) CONSUMERISM: goose eggs/10 DRINKING: 1/10 (In chapter 8, Terry is drunk from lemonade and bubblegum) LANGUAGE: 1/10 (I hate you, Shut up, Idiot, Dum-dum) SEX: 2/10 (Terry makes out with a mermaid when she proposes, only to know she's a sea monster.) VIOLENCE: 4/10 (The mermaid mentions sucking the marrow from Terry's toes, and slaughtering Terry's body underwater. There is a painstakingly shocking scene where Andy blacks out after getting whacked with a giant banana.)
