While the bulk of the game is more of basic arcade style fishing game, there's a story mode in which players set out to rescue fish and to help clean trash from a polluted sea. It highlights the potential harm environmental damage can do and encourages players to help out how and where they can.

Players are mainly introduced to a few characters in the story mode, which mostly include talking aquatic creatures. These characters are generally friendly and helpful, working with the player to rescue the endangered animals. Outside of the story, most interactions with others are with other players, either via local or online play.

Players are given a fair amount of basic customization options and can earn cosmetics, such as new outfits and accessories, via gameplay. These are simply basic visual differences to players' cartoonish avatars though.

The game's controls aren't well defined, leaving players to learn more through practice, patience, and good old fashioned trial and error. The story mode helps players with a few of the basics, but still falls short as a tutorial. Finally, English subtitles don't exist for much of the Japanese narration, occasionally leaving players lost in translation.

The game is an arcade style fishing game, which includes fishing themes party games. Players can use abilities to "stun" fish, making them easier to catch. Some of the party games have actions like players being chased by giant sharks.
