But Marvel just made a story about how perfect women are. There is not a single female villain in the entire movie. Even taskmaster (a female) is under Dreykov's mind-control. Not to mention every other widow mentioned was either mind-controlled or a deserter. One would think that there would be at least one girl who liked the power the red room gave them. Even Dreykov's architect is absolved of any blame (though she does demonstrates some measure of cruelty when she nearly kills one of her pets to explain a point), just because Nat and her have a 'talk'. In the end the three females of the family kick white male ass, while their father just makes dumb comments and reminisces/mourns the past. ~~~ And finally, there are several loopholes/not explained things that almost ruin the movie, for me, in their simplicity. Much is glazed over, like Nat was separated from her sister but yet somehow they get back together while still in the red room? Or how they completely demolish 2 separate bases filled with criminals and people just doing their jobs, yet feel no remorse? Or why Nat and her sister seemingly try to kill each-other when they meet, although they presumably know who the other is? I could go on, but I won't. ~~~ Sorry this review is so long, I was majorly disappointed with the movie I've been so excited to watch and this is my rant I guess. I'm used to getting so much more from Marvel, but this movie was an abysmal failure. I was so excited to see her character and motivations developed, while also seeing an engaging addition to the MCU on female empowerment. Oh well. ~~~ Side note- I just want to mention how funny the review is that was placed on the cover of the DVD case. It read "Another win for Marvel". Not something like 'colourful masterpiece', or even 'entertaining movie'. It is literally a statement of fact. Marvel has millions of fans worldwide, Black Widow would have been a financial win, even if it starred Jim Carry as a variant of Black Widow from another universe.

When we see Yelena and Natasha as kids they get separated and we see other kids crying and being parted from their siblings (very emotional) Yelena cuts herself to take a micro chip out of her arm and we see a little bit of blood. A woman also falls from a high place and gets injured. They show her still alive but the bad guy can control her actions and they show her blow her self up. She is seen with an empty eye socket and laying in a small pool of blood (possibly the most frightening and disturbing part of the movie) Natasha is beat up by the other widows being controlled and it is shown for a long moment wich is pretty sad and disturbing. They also show a flash back of Natasha blowing up a building with the bad guys daughter in it. They believed she was dead but they later show her in the movie with a distorted face showing that she had been severely burned in her earlier child hood and had survived. Yelena is showed putting flowers at Natasha’s grave and she is seen crying (in my opinion this was the saddest scene and you will not understand this scene unless you watch all the avengers movies) overall Natasha and Yelena give great messages and are great role models. It also shows the importance of sisterly love and how strong relationships can really be. I absolutely loved this movie and I hope you do to

Humour: Natasha’s “sister” yelena makes a few jokes, and like all marvel movies, there is quite a bit of general humour throughout the movie. 5. Bonus scene: there is a bonus scene! Great right? Well, it turns out (and I had not seen it at the time) that the bonus scene spoils something from the avengers endgame. So only watch it if you have seen avengers endgame. In conclusion, best marvel movie ever! probably 12 and up, unless your child is very comfortable with dark movies, mainly because of the beginning, the battle scenes, and once again, the dark plot.
