Some easy examples are the hardware store owner's comments when Callie (the mom) was buying supplies to fix up the 'dirt' farm and when Gary Grooberson is talking to Callie at the farmhouse, Podcast says to Phoebe “I think Grooberson’s trying to bone your mom," then later, after they had been changed back from their demonic form Gary asks Callie "Did we...?" and Callie replied, "I think so." These are only a couple examples. There are more issues with dialogue and references that may turn parents off to this otherwise endearing continuation of the Ghostbusters franchise . This movie was well written so when I saw these scenes, I was disappointed because it sometimes felt forced upon the viewer and I knew these scenes would have benefited from cleverer dialog, appropriate gestures or a unique look would have been more memorable, funnier and family friendly. To summarize, I really liked this film and I think it would be fun to watch with your kids (being aware of some content you may want to protect your kids from), others who appreciate the originals or watch it alone. The movie met my expectations with the story keeping true to the originals from the 80s, but the rush to the end resulting in missed opportunities to fill in the history of Ivo Shandor and some other areas made me feel more like a viewer than an immersed character. Finally, the cheap shortcuts using sexual innuendo or off-colored language, especially from young characters like Podcast seemed misplaced and unnecessary, chipping away at the perfection of the film overall. Hence, this film falls short of a full flight.
