Younger kids will only be disturbed by its gruesome scenes of violence and bleak tragedy. Content-wise, here's what to expect: VIOLENCE: The plot of this film is essentially as follows: "A man tells his friend that they are done being drinking buddies, and for every time he attempts to interact with him, he will cut off one of his fingers. Suffice it to say that he 100% follows through on his threat. Lots of splattered blood, severed fingers thrown at doors, animal's choking to death on said fingers, and the man's mutilated, gorey hand stump are all shown in gruesome detail. There is also an arson attack on a house while a man is still inside, a sympathetic character's bloated corpse washing up after he supposedly drowns himself, several fist fights with blood, and a sympathetic character's wounds shown after he is abused by his father. While the violence isn't frequent (and only the finger scenes are actually very gruesome) everything is done with such a bleak, depressing attitude that it just makes it much harder to watch. SWEARING: About 60 uses of "f-ck" often with an Irish accent. Several other words are used: "c-ck", "damn", "hell", "b-stard", "sh-t", etc. SEX/NUDITY: A fully naked man is seen for an extend period of time while he is asleep. Graphic nudtiy. A fairly graphic retelling of this event is later shared by a character. SMOKING/DRINKING: The two main characters smoke cigarettes and drink constantly. One character gets drunk multiple times. A woman smokes a pipe in multiple scenes and background characters smoke and drink frequently.
