Trusted adult recommended for heavier topics

I would definitely say that Degrassi is okay for older teens. The show dives into some “deeper” topics such as suicide, rape, and abuse so I would definitely recommend that there is someone that the child/teen can talk to after watching certain episodes if needed.

Here

Well... This show is ok it rated PG here in Canada. But there so many time's where there is sex joke or something of that. but I watch married...with children and that should be rated PG too. If this is. But I have learn from it to share things if things are going wrong on in your life and to not be peer pressure to do things.

the absolute best show ever made

i think this show is best for 12 years old's and older. personally i was 12 or 13 when i watched degrassi for the first time to me its entertaining and educational. yes theres talk of drugs, sex, and suicide, and killing. etc. but at that age those are things to learn about. its a really really great show and super good for teens.

Amazing show but not for younger kids

I rated this for 14 and up because I feel like while this is a very good show to learn about serious topics that middle and high schoolers face, it does cover some pretty dark and heavy topics. Anyone under 14 should only watch the show if they're mature enough to handle some of these topics. It is a very good show, and quite addictive, but keep in mind that not everyone may be able to handle some of the topics on this show, and it's not a show suited for everyone.

Good for older teens

I think this series suits older teens. It deals with violence, aftermath of violence and coming back after tragedy. It can sometimes be unrealistic, such as an eating disorder being completely over in a matter of the whole episode. Many characters have strong friendship bonds with each other, sending out great messages of frienship

Helping kids Overcome problems

I started watching Season 10 when I was 12. As a transgender teen struggling to go through middle school, Adam was such an inspiring character for me, as are all of the other characters. Yes, many parents think that the topics handled in Degrassi (self harm, suicide, sex, drugs, etc.) are too mature for your average teenager. However, I think that the way the show handled situations like Elly's cutting, Clare's pregnancy and Cam's suicide highlighted the consequences of the actions and helped people watching it to know not to have unprotected sex, talk about their depression, take drugs, etc. I rate this show a 12 and up because mature kids can handle the serious topics to enjoy the show and all the amazing characters and actors!

it is very realistic and has good writing

the writing is good and most of the acting is good. It is very realistic and I started watching when I was 12 and I understood what was going on, so that is why I think a 12 yr old and older should be able to watch it.
