Anyone who says this is just normal high school behavior has been brainwashed by shows like this. It's a lie. Every young person we know found it disgusting and sad — and no, they are not prudes. One question for any decent person who has watched this show: Name me one female character (except perhaps the coach's wife and baby girl) who is not portrayed as a sex toy for teenage boys. Just one. The adult nurse from Central America? The 33-year-old neighbor? Waitresses. A mother? Any of the girls in high school? Each and every one of them is treated by the show's writers as value-less sex objects. That's the common sense, and very sad, truth.

Most of the girls and the show look perfectly beautiful has do the males. This is unrealistic, I would have liked to see more normal looking people. I appreciate how they show the conflict in dealing with a disability, alcoholism, abandonment of parents, abusive boyfriends, infidelity, learning disability and stress over performing. I love seeing scenes of people looking out for each other challenging each other to do the right thing and helping one another with learning overcoming and a myriad of circumstances including a grandmother with dementia who needs care. Sadly I got pulled in with a show and realize I cannot watch it anymore. I can't allow my children to watch it due to the sex scenes with the teens. We're supposed to be looking out for them not watching them in this way.

It's absolutely rife with conversation starters for families, and younger teens will need parents' help processing some of the heavier story lines.
